Obituary for Robert Leslie Radford

Robert Leslie Radford, age 73, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Friday March 20, 2015.

Bob was born on March 20, 1942 to the late David Nesbitt and Mary Elizabeth (MacFadzean) Radford in Toronto. He was a graduate of Bathurst Heights Collegiate in 1961, University College, University of Toronto in 1965, (psychology) and University of Toronto Law School in 1968.

Bob was called to the Bar in 1970 and worked most of his professional career with the Ontario Government at the Ministries of the Attorney General, Ontario Housing, and Government Services providing expertise in mortgage financing, land development, condominiums and intellectual property.

Bob was an active member of the High Park Ski Club as Director of Skiing, club president and manager of the club’s legal section as well as serving as a nordic ski instructor. He was as an avid cyclist and weekend runner with the Wilket Creek exercise group. These were times he enjoyed for many years.

In retirement Bob enthusiastically delved into the family history resulting in a significant study of the life and times of the Radford/MacFadzean clans that stretches back to the 1600s. It was a proud accomplishment for him. He appreciated the friendship of his close neighbours and in his last months, the CCAC home support team.

Bob is survived by his brother Barry John Radford (Denise Pinnegar) of Huntsville Ontario.

In lieu of flowers, donations are gratefully accepted to either the Canadian Parkinson Society, the Toronto Reference Library, or the charity of one’s choice..
