Obituary for Helga Maria Lorenzen

Helga Maria Lorenzen passed away peacefully at home on Saturday November 4, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. Helga led a fulfilled life for 87 years. She was born in Stolberg, Germany on November 18, 1929 and came to Canada on June 6, 1977 with her daughter Barbara and her late sister Alexandra and her daughter Christiane. Her eldest daughter Ulrike always visited from Germany with her son Peter and daughter Louisa. For 25 years Helga lived her dream on her farm in Terra Cotta, Ontario before moving to Toronto in May 2006. In Toronto she spent quality years with her daughter Barbara and son -in-law Heinz and she was not alone. She continued to love the outdoors and the lakefront of Toronto while living at Grand Harbour; nature and animals where a priority to her. Helga's warm and generous spirit touched many, she was a person who was kind and fair to all living souls. Helga (Mami) will be missed deeply. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 23, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at the G.H. Hogle Funeral Home, 63 Mimico Ave., Etobicoke, ON. Funeral service on Friday, November 24, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at G.H. Hogle Funeral Home. Interment Park Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Helga’s memory may be made to The Dorothy Ley Hospice.
