On Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at 9:45pm, Paula Irma Terpstra passed away. She was a beloved wife of Bruce William Shaw, a supportive mother of Zachary Terpstra Shaw (wife Bianca Shaw), Rylan Terpstra Shaw (Colleen Parks), and Garrett Terpstra Shaw, and a passionate Oma to Lucas William Lee Edwards-Shaw. Sister of Louis Terpstra (Sandra).  She was sixty-seven. Born to Louis Terpstra and Laura Wüst, Paula graduated from University of Toronto, Erindale College, with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Geography. She went on to become an environmental planner at the Ministry of Natural Resources and then went on to work at the Ontario Heritage Trust as a Coordinator. She passionately loved her job. Paula met Bruce at Erindale College, who later became her husband. They were together for nearly 47 years.

Paula was active in Beavers, Parent/Teacher School Council, Out of the Cold Homeless Shelter, and closely organized "Project Hope," which supported Syrian refugee services through Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and St. Gregory's Catholic Church. Paula also loved hiking, reading (especially the newspaper cover to cover), the great outdoors, camping, family trips, down-hill skiing, cross-country skiing, and cheering on her kids in many sporting events and clubs. Paula was always generous, considerate, accommodating, and selfless towards others with her time and home. She was unbelievably clever, resourceful, and environmentally conscious.

The visitation will be held at the G.H. Hogle Funeral Home on Sunday November 13, 2022 from 2 to 5 p.m.. The funeral will be on Monday November 14, 2022 at 11:00am at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Following the burial, there will be a celebration of life at The Marina Del Ray Condominiums in the Malibu Club Room where there will be a light lunch and memory sharing.
