Condolence: Bob did not fit the image of an athlete, yet he was an avid cyclist, runner, hiker and skier. He switched from Alpine to Cross Country skiing and was instrumental in setting up the Nordic Ski School for High Park Ski Club. His long lasting image for me will always be of an intellectual. When we were having a discussion and wanted a fact, we always went to Bob. His opinions were well thought out and reasonable. His dry wit was outstanding, much like Winston Churchill. My own mother thought he was the funniest person that she knew and on that I am in agreement. His pursuance of his family history and the publication of his research was admirable!

Condolence: My memories of Bob are ones of past friendship, respect and humour. I was very saddened by his passing and had wished, as with others, a closer connection in his later life but it was Bob's choice.
Like many past friends, I knew Bob as a very private but funny(quirky)individual; and competitive and great Nordic instructor, who left a huge mark in his social contributions at High Park and in his legal career in the Ontario government. I never dealt with Bob except for the occasional lunch to get well sought after advice while working as manager in Environment, but know he was very well respected.

I will not forget you Bob.

I knew Bob from the very first days of cross-country skiing with the High Park Ski Club. I was first introduced to Bob one day when I needed an early morning ride to the ski bus. He arrived as promised in his sporty green MGB. The first challenge was getting two pairs of cross-country skiis into the car without doing injury to ourselves. I'm happy to say we arrived safe and sound and I had the privilege of enjoying Bob's friendship and good humour for many years. You will be missed Bob!

Condolence: My sincere condolences to Bob's family at his passing. He had an admirable intellect, an inquiring mind, a quick wit, and a love for cross country skiing and running. I'm sure that he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Condolence: Bob kindly put me up while I was working in Toronto as a Legislative Page back in 1996. He helped orient me with the city and always offered his humorous commentary while we watched the legislative channel with dinner. From one techie to another, rest in peace.
