Sherry Barton

Dorothy was a most cherished colleague in Toronto Public Health where she took me under her wing and made work life more than enjoyable. We had numerous adventures including dancing around a tree in the moonlight at Grindstone Island when at a women's health conference. And choosing a hot pink paint colour for our office wall at city hall in the early 1980's- the cleaning lady said the colour reminded her of cheap hotels back in her homeland! Dorothy nurtured my love of gardening, and generously loaned me her beautiful Irish Shop linen jacket for every wedding I attended for years on end. She was an inspiration who cared deeply about her family, friends and community. Sherry Barton
